Our daughter, Megan, is getting married in September and she decided to hire Lindsay Aikman as her wedding photographer. Lindsay is passionate about wedding photography and that’s why anyone looking for a photographer should seek out a wedding photographer who is passionate about weddings and not just shooting anything that pays the bills.

Yes, there are lots of photographers in the Raleigh market that photograph almost anything because it pays the bills not because they truly love doing it. You’ll want to hire a wedding photographer that truly loves photographing weddings: Lindsay Aikman is one of those photographers.

Who are the top wedding photographers in Raleigh NC?

Even if I listed several wedding photographers that I know of, how do you define who are the top wedding photographers in the Raleigh market? Is it their Google rankings? Is it their awards? Is it because they are at every wedding show in the Raleigh area?

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who puts the list of the top wedding photographers in Raleigh together, photography is in the eye of the beholder. It’s really about how the photographers personality and work appeal to the #1 person in the wedding: The Bride.

As you know, the wedding day is all about the Bride and it’s important that the wedding photographer provide memories that will last a lifetime. The good memories not the ones that a bad wedding photographer created by having key images out of focus, poor lighting or any number of other things that could go wrong with an inexperienced wedding photographer behind the camera or even worse, a photographer that is photographing the wedding purely for the money not the passion.

What is wedding photography pricing like in the Raleigh market?

In the Raleigh market, there are wedding photographers that charge under $1,000. That doesn’t make them a bad wedding photographer, but it does mean that they are likely targeting smaller budget weddings and may not be use to more dynamic wedding venues.

Although I am not a wedding photographer, it seems that the higher end wedding photographers in the Raleigh market start in the $3,500 to $4,000 range and go up from there. The middle price point for the Raleigh market seems to fall in the $2,000 to $3,500 range which as of this post is the range that Lindsay’s wedding pricing is in.

Just remember that after the cake is cut, the table cloths are all folded and all the cleanup work is done that the pictures from the wedding will be one of the most highly cherished, tangible takeaways that will last a lifetime.

Reading reviews and speaking with past clients…

In addition to liking the wedding photographers portfolio and personality, you should also read online reviews in places like Google, Yelp, Wedding Wire, etc. However, the best source of all is talking with 2 or 3 past clients about their experience with the wedding photographer that you are considering.

In Closing…

If I didn’t have the utmost confidence in Lindsay’s ability as a solid wedding photographer, I would not have written nearly 600 words recommending that you contact Lindsay for consideration for any wedding photography needs. Although she has not photographed our daughters wedding as of this post, I am confident that our daughter made the right choice for her wedding photographer.
