So You Have A Growing Photography Business – Great! What’s Your N.R.R. Plan?
Since N.R.R. refers to 3 common areas of business, someone may have mentioned it online. But when I searched, I found NRR (Noise Reduction Ratings) which is not what I am referring to.
N.R.R. is something that I made up that I believe makes sense not only for photographers but any business. N.R.R. stands for New Business, Referral Business, Repeat Business. As you can see, I left out the B. to keep it simple.
So as a photographer (since that’s my focus as well), what is your New Business Acquisition, Referral Business Acquisition and Repeat Business plan for your business.
How are you getting new clients? How are you getting referral business? What are you doing to get repeat business from your client based?
The purpose of this post is to not even attempt to provide every answer, but it’s to get you thinking about the answers to those questions. It’s to encourage you to put an action plan in place. Notice, I didn’t say put a plan in place but put an ACTION plan in place. That means that you actually have to take steps to make this happen.
I will confess that my biggest weakness of the 3 is related to a repeat business action plan. Yes, I get repeat business and I love it. But I don’t spend as much time as I should staying in front of my client base. That’s something that I have to work on more in 2015. It should be the easiest one because we all know getting new business is not as easy as getting repeat business from some that is satisfied or even super satisfied with your work.
In closing, my challenge to you is to put together your N.R.R. action plan by really thinking about the 3 questions below:
How are you getting new clients?
How are you getting referral business?
What are you doing to get repeat business from your client based?
